Angélica Dass is a Brazilian photographer who has set out on the task of capturing every possible skin tone for her project called Humanae. As if it were a Pantone chart of colors, her photographs are displayed with tone names underneath.
Actually, the tones are picked by shooting a photograph of the subject against a white background and selecting an 11 x 11 square of their noses. After obtaining the combined tone, she checked the Pantone table to learn the name of it.
To this day, she has captured more than 200 photographs because her project became quickly known, from 19 different cities in total. Her work was inspired by the discrimination that she suffered as she was growing up. Thanks to it, in the end, she says that all of the anger and frustration turned to love, which you can really see in her work.
